Power Management and Software

The Battery
Nikon provides an easy view of your batteries overall status. The fuel gauge function in D2 series cameras gives the exact percentage of charge remaining and confirms the precise number of shots taken since the last shot.
The Viewfinder
Nikon’s exception viewfinder offers the best view possible. For example, the D200 provides clear and bright 0.94X optical viewfinder. The vivid display allows you to capture the moment without ever having to move your eye away from the viewfinder.
The Operating System
Nikon makes it easy for the user to take quality pictures by placing key buttons and dials in places that are ergonomically correct. The consistent operation system across the lineup of Nikon digital cameras makes it easy to operate any camera. The image transmission technology used is a wireless transmitter than enables you to transmit control of the camera from a distance. Wireless compatible accessories such as the WT-2 and WT-3 are easy and convenient to set up.
Certain cameras also have global positioning systems built in. The Nikon D2 series and the D200 digital SLRs can be connected to GPS units for embedding GPS positioning information and time signals within your image data files.
Finally, Nikon’s new capture NX software allows you to make radical changes or add subtle nuances to the color and feel of your pictures. All it takes is a simple adjustment to a few of the sliders. The data stays intact no matter how many adjustments are made. Some of the compensation functions include vignette control, chromatic aberration control, and fisheye image correction.
