Main Menu and Toolbar when editing photographic images with Adobe Photoshop

When we start the program a main menu appear on the screen in the top part, and a rectangle with the tools. For space reasons we will only see the basic tools and the function referring to editing photographic images with Adobe Photoshop, which will let us obtain maximum quality files and prints, with balanced tones.

The main menu consists of nine points:

•  File: with this menu we open, close and save files, control the scanner ( importing ), printing, we establish the color space and preferences and we exit the program.

•  Edit: from here we can make changes in the image, such as cutting, tracing (surrounding the selected part with a variable thickness line), fill in selected zone with a determined color and transform (change the aspect of the whole image or a previously selected part: enlarge or reduce, rotate, slant, distort, etc.).

•  Image: lets us establish the color mode, induce adjustments in tone, make a copy of the image we are working with, determine the size of the image, the resolution, and resize the canvas , which is the background that contains the image and can be larger than it.

•  Layer: Photoshop lets us work with different superimposed layers, such as textboxes, cutouts from other images, adjustment layers, etc. With this submenu we can control everything referring to the image layers.

•  Selection: a selection is a zone of the image we can limit with the different tools. With this menu we can modify and transform the area of the image we have selected.

•  Filter: presents an enormous variety of tools to add textures and effects.

•  View: in this menu we can choose different possibilities of visualization, from choosing a second window of the same image we are working with, establish a frame with the dimensions of the image in centimeters or introduce guides and squares to help us place and line up the elements of the image.

•  Window: Photoshop offers a wide range of auxiliary windows which we can activate or deactivate to control the steps we are giving ( history ), the enlargement of the image, the relative information to each point in the image and the tool options we are using ( browser, info, options ), and the colors and brushes we have at our disposal in the different tools of drawing and erasing ( color, samples, brushes ).

•  Help: all the functions of Adobe Photoshop can be consulted in this very complete users guide.
