The brightness or brilliance of a color is the intensity with which we perceive it. At first instance depending of the intensity of the reflected light in absolute sense, but also of it's relative

intensity regarding the rest of the colors of the scene. Brightness reflected or transmitted is expressed more frequently as a percent fraction of incident light (6.1.1).
